Jarrik Van Der Biest

Jarrik Van Der Biest (1996) studied History at KU Leuven and obtained a master’s degree in Medieval Studies at the University of Leeds, with a dissertation on the expression of theological insecurities in medieval anti-Jewish legends. He held internships at the International Medieval Bibliography, the Maurits Sabbe Library and Illuminare. He is preparing a PhD on the content of theological courses at the University of Louvain during the Dutch Revolt, when the university turned into a intellectual fortress of Catholicism in the fragmented borderlands between the Holy Roman Empire, the Dutch Republic and the Habsburg Netherlands.
