Isabel Casteels (1994) graduated at the University of Amsterdam with a master’s thesis on the production of knowledge from overseas areas in the Dutch city of Enkhuizen at the end of the sixteenth century. She is preparing a PhD thesis on the function and role of executions in the Dutch Revolt, with a particular attention for frontier cities such as Valenciennes and Antwerp.
