Sophie Verreyken (°1991) studied history at the University of Leuven and the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. She graduated in 2013 with a socio-cultural study of the seventeenth-century town of Spa in the Belgian Ardennes. Since october 2013 she prepares a doctoral thesis on transregional networks and identity formation among hispano-flemish elites in the Southern Netherlands (1659-1708), under the supervision of prof. dr. Werner Thomas and prof. dr. Violet Soen.
